I'm looking to get a pair of Sennheiser HD588 headphones and an at2020 (plus) and I have a couple of questions. 1. With my headphones plugged into the at2020 plus will I be able to hear my game through the headphones or just my voice. 2. with the open back hd558 will people in my Skype be able to hear the audio from the hd558 through the mic.

why would you want to plug your headphones into the mic? You onboard should be better, oh and you should be able to also hear the game, but you will hear your own voice...

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Onboard is not better lol.

um yes it is? Have you not seen how good onboard has become? If you get a motherboard with really good onboard then you need a budget of 150$ to beat it. I have a whole topic talking about amps and DACs where I mention onboard A LOT

If you plug your headphones into the AT2020USB+, you will only hear your voice. The headphone jack on the microphone is there for monitoring the microphone output.

(I've got an AT2020USB that I'm looking to sell if interested, it's not the + version though, only major differences between the USB+ and USB are the price and the headphone jack for monitoring the mic audio.)

People will likely be able to hear whatever is going through your headphones in skype.
