Ethernet adapter failed to start (code 10)

My ethernet adapter on my asus maximus vii formula randomly stopped working. I tried disabling and re-enabling, Uninstalling and restarting the computer, checked for driver updates, even disabled in bios and restarting. Nothing. Any ideas?

is the mobo under warranty? try an ethernet pci card

Did you try connecting with another device to rule out ISP or modem issues?

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

dunno much about how they fail but you could try one of those usb to ethernet adapters or a nic

what?

 

it's a Windows device manager error (device cannot start), it has NOTHING to do with the cable/DLS modem or ISP ...

Believe it's under warranty still but that's kinda a last resort. I'm going to pick up a nic today

Alright, one time i f**ked mine up and wouldn't connect like yours. Here's a fix and if it doesn't work you'll have to RMA the board. Go to device manager and uninstall the driver. Reboot the computer and windows will install the driver again. Then you update the driver and your adapter will reset to factory settings.

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

I've tried exactly that. Didn't work unfortunately.

if deleting the drivers didn't work then it's possible that the device is dead ... if the motherboard is still under warranty I would go for an RMA.
