Hello,

Does graphics cards with no external power have any disadvantages compared to ones, that need power from PSU?

oc, other than that nothing drastic since they are low tier cards

Well if it doesnt draw power from psu, it still draws it from the mobo. This often means that your card does not draw much power as it will not use all that power because... It's likely a potato. If it doesnt perform well, it wont need the connectors. Thats why EVERY GOOD GRAPHICS ADAPTER HAS POWER INPUT.

Blue screens eh? Did you try setting it to Wumbo?

I find GPUs without the PCIe power connectors are handy in two ways: good for upgrading systems that don't have a spare power connector, and they're generally low heat output and noise. But the limited power does mean limited performance. The budget option is a 750 Ti, and it doesn't matter much who makes it. I got one for a mod I'm still planning which has very limited space and power. There are some GTX950 which also don't have the power connector. These will perform better, but also cost more.

Do check if they need a power connector or not as it will vary from model to model and you can't rely on the chip.
