Hello, I have a question.

I've been experiencing some issues where my games start dropping frames and sometimes even get choppy sound.

I used to have an issue with CPU throttling which got fixed after i got a new motherboard. but i'm having similar issues now despite having a new one.

Mobo: ASRock 970A-G

CPU: AMD FX-8350

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 390

And 8GB of ram.

My temperatures seem fine except for the "CPUTIN" as it's labeled in HWMonitor. It gets up to 88C

Is this what causes the problem? I didnt have the problem since 3 days ago.

I even have watercooling for my CPU.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

The choppy sound is the CPU running at 100% and struggling to handle everything. I have heard that if you go into the bios there is some type of power saving thing you can turn off. Have a look at this thread and see if it helps you any.

Hi, you can try under volting the cpu, and give it slight under clock ( if you theres options for it in bios). amd cpus not only runs hot, but the mobo's vrm and cpu socket runs quite hot aswell. thats why they recommend cpu cooler that blows into the mobo aswell to keep it cool aswell. Also the fps drops are caused by throttling so unless you cant undervolt/clock it then you need to get betterairflow so you can cool down mobo aswell or switch to intel.

GPU - Asus Strix 1080 8gb
