My friend asked me for PC help with absolutely no PC experience. I have very little of it, but I tried constructing her with a build anyway and I wanted tips, with what I could introduce for this build for it to become better more efficient, stronger, or better price/performance. ( She also really wants to keep a red/black theme going throughout the PC with most of the components)

Budget is around 1000AUD

dont go for an old AMD CPU at this point,

wait for the upcoming new bright shiny zen that hopefully bring back AMD on the CPU market

or get an intel i5 6500 (~190 bucks) or something like that

that'll give you a much better performance

also when the bugdet is  ~1 grand you should consider adding a nice SSD like Samsung 850 evo ( 250 gb or more )

even RAM would be nice 8-16GB or your system wont run

try pcpartpicker instead to select the items ;)

Yeah the FX6300 was old when I bought mine in Jan 2014.

Also +1 on the SSD, and PCPartpicker

I edit my posts a lot.

omg, ty

Here: https://www.pccasegear.com/sc/x8M

$905 including your RAM

1x8GB ram so that you can have a possibility to upgrade to 16GB if you ever need to do so in the future. But if you feel that you don't need to upgrade then you can go for a 2x4GB kit  https://www.pccasegear.com/products/27405/kingston-hyperx-fury-hx318c10fwk2-8-8gb-2x4gb-white and utilize that dual channel

If you would like to have an SSD than you can swap out the harddrive for this SSD https://www.pccasegear.com/products/35326/crucial-bx200-240gb-ssd this would allow you to just simply add on a Harddrive in the near future without needing to reinstall windows.

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case
