I have a 4 year old AMD build. It performs well enough for me in gaming, but I'm looking to work part time as a freelance programmer aside from my full time job. I don't want to spend a huge amount of money for the build and I would like to keep my head(s) attached to my body (I'm married).

Here's my current setup:

AMD FX 6100

PowerColor R7 260X (bought last year)

4GB of RAM (I know, for gaming, it isn't enough)

Enermax 500W PSU

MSI 880GMS-E41 (FX)

1TB Caviar Blue

My budget is $500 (more or less 24,000 in Ph Peso). If you can squeeze that budget on an i5 and 1060 or even a 480, that would be great.

Would like to buy my parts here: http://tipidpc.com/useritems.php?username=pchub

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600k 4.4GHz | Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z270F Gaming | Cooler: Cryorig H7 | RAM: GSkill Ripjaws V 8GB 2x4 3200 MHz | GPU: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X | PSU: Seasonic G-550w 80+ Gold Certified, Semi Modular | Storage: 250GB Samsung 850 EVO, 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue | Case: NZXT S340 Elite (Black/Red) | Monitor: BenQ XL2411 144hz | Keyboard: Corsair STRAFE RGB Cherry MX Silent | Mouse: Corsair M65 Pro RGB

I'd like to make a Chemistry joke, but all the good ones ARGON. *nudgenudge *winkwink

i5 6500 and some cheap 1151 socket board with d3 in its name, so you can use your ddr3 stick. Also another 4gb stick. If you got dough for gpu then go with 480 or 1060

''Daddy CumTits 2.0'' (pc):

CPU - Intel i7 8700k

GPU - Asus Strix 1080 8gb

RAM - 2x8gb Corsair Vengance

MOBO - Asus Prime Z370-p

I want to say only one thing. You don't have to have a top end computer for programming. I use Acer Aspire 5100 with Linux and I'm fine.

My work laptop is an i5 3120M with 8GB of memory, yet it is still slow.
