Hi there,

I wasn't really sure where to make this post, I didn't want to do it in the classifieds because I really don't want to sell it, but with me trying to put together the "Super Budget" Computer for my buddies Handicap Daughter I thought maybe someone would be interested enough in this little guy to maybe swap it for something. If the person is feeling super generous and willing to give to the cause (if you didn't read my other post, long story short.  My good friend has a mentally and Physically Disabled Daughter and we really want to build her a computer capable of running a HTC Vive because it would be amazing for her to be able to experience and visit places she may never be able to access/visit  (shes also wheelchair bound ), and also use the Vive for a more "hands on almost" type learningbut definitely visually able to learn from it), but with my Buddy and I both being disabled,  funds are non existent so were trying to build the computer on donations,  stuff laying around,  or swapping for all the components.  I also am currently talking to HTC personallyabout possibly them donating the Vive system itself. Right now due to a eBay scandal we desperately need a CPU, and will also need a GPU too but I plan on selling my Razer OSVR Headset and using that money to buy a graphics card for my buddy for his birthday,  but if we can get our hands on a GTX 1060/70 or AMD RX480, then I'd be able to use the OSVR money towards a CPU instead.

Anyways, completely off track, I have a Pine 64++ that I backed on Kickstarter months and months ago, I received the item and installed a modified version of Android on it and then got a cool little box for it and then basically made it a cool looking book end lol, so would be great if someone was able to actually put it to use. I got the plus plus version,  basically the best version they offer which you can check out HERE, but in short is a 1.2 Ghz Quad-Core ARM Cortex A53 64-Bit Processor with Dual Core Mali 400 MP2 Graphics card, 2 gb of RAM, Integrated Display engine with HDMI 1.4 output up to 4K and a 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet Port. I actually think there is some sort of Bluetooth Module for it too, but I don't have that. But all that wrapped up in a custom wooden case with some cool wood burnt designs on it.

To make it something even cooler for barter value I was thinking about even building a awesome little miniature water cooling system for it! If I don't get rid of it anytime soon I will probably do it, just to give me something fun to work on.  Just like use my 3d printer with some cool see through material to CAD out some bad ass custom blocks for all the random chips and then coming up with some cool Steampunk inspired enclosure for all of it! If you want to see the current enclosure it is this one HERE.  Its actually a pretty cool little mini computer to give to like grampa to stream 4k on or give to the kid going off to college for a PC mounted to the back of a 4k tv and just have it hidden away for basic uses, etc.  Iono, I'msure there are a bunch of different things it could be used for besides a freaking book end lol.

If you have a Intel 6700k laying around and like the cause and what we're doing for this young girland want to donate the CPU to the cause but also wouldn't mind something in return then this would be a perfect little "Thank You Gift" for supplying the much needed (and obviously desperately required lol) CPU!

Thanks everyone.  Happy Gaming!

Rich

If you are interested in the Pine, or in donating components to the build then don't hesitate to shoot me a message here or text me at 810.705.1117. But I also wanted to see what people thought about my Water Cooling this little mini computer?  Obviously it was made and designed to be a fanless type b computer,  so the water cooling would really just be something to keep me busy with, and also give me something to design in CAD for class. I'm thinking, what? Like 3 little mini blocks, one for the ARM Cortex A53 , one for the MPU, and one for the RAM? Maybe even toss ond more on the Flash Storage for shits and giggles lol. It would be something fun to do.

I tried to have my buddy start a Campaign,  but he is really the type of person who hates asking for help. Shoot when I first started putting this PC together with components I had laying around from old builds or parts that never made it into a build, I basically had to tell him I didn't care what he wanted lol, I was doing it with or without his approval.  But after I sat him down and said that this is bigger than his darn ego here! Giving her this experience is something that you can take a deep breath and swallow that pride and do what needs to be done to make this happen for her. I am also going to write a article on it as well, to show people /parents that VR Systems are WAY more than just a "Gaming Device" or "Entertainment Device", and that the possibilities are going to be endless with not only children like his Daughter,  but also Paralyzed people or anything like that. I really see VR being a huge part of our lives over the next couple years!

VR is also a great way to learn,if somebody cant hear you just write in the computer and it will show in the set and he can learn much faster

I am Dyslexic and have ADHD and it has ALWAYS been hard for me to learn from textbooks or reading, I would need to read something 6 or 7 times before anything started to make sense and I have always been better learning things hands on, and although YouTube and Video Learning has been great for me,  I literally cannot wait for the opportunity to learn via VR with a much more interactive type teaching/learning, and being able to actually take part in the actual thing we're trying to learn, instead of just trying to imagine it, or have to waituntil you are basically thrown into the situation. I see VR making learning for not only people like me and my buddies daughter, but for EVERYONE being so much easier,  efficient,  and effective!

Well I mean hopefully it gets to a point where it is so effective that VR learning is actually incorporated into schools and learning centers. Also in a few years the VR technology should be advanced enough that it will bring Headset prices down to a reasonable price for families. I also see AR being in the forefront of teaching/learning as well, just imagine walking in to your full white classroom with absolutely not a thing on the walls and then a ll the students put on their Microsoft HaloLens  (or similar) and the room absolutely comes to life in which the teacher can easily change the complete look of the classroom within a matter of a few minutes, and they will be able to create a school session with the students actually Dissecting a Dinosaur,  or switch to VR mode and have them walking on the surface of Mars. I get so excited and hyper when it comes to thinking about using these 2 new technologies in the classroom! I mean they could be used in each and every subject.  Think about Geography and exploring deep down within tunnels and even volcanoes! History and fighting along side George Washington and the Continental Army in the Battle of Trenton! I mean even Auto Shop! Or there are no Billionaires that want a bunch of students working on their Bugatti Veyron? Throw on the HaloLens and be able to immerse yourself into a Veyron Clutch changing!

I know I am going on and on, and kinda throwing this post off track, but I just really get super excited about the future possibilities.
