It's for servers.

No wonder I've never heard anyone mention it.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.

@Glenwing , sorry I was thinking of some of the older Xeons :P

Console optimisations and how they will effect you | The difference between AMD cores and Intel cores | Memory Bus size and how it effects your VRAM usage |
How much vram do you actually need? | APUs and the future of processing | Projects: SO - here

Intel i7 5820l @ with Corsair H110 | 32GB DDR4 RAM @ 1600Mhz | XFX Radeon R9 290 @ 1.2Ghz | Corsair 600Q | Corsair TX650 | Probably too much corsair but meh should have had a Corsair SSD and RAM | 1.3TB HDD Space | Sennheiser HD598 | Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro | Blue Snowball

they don't offer anything that would change anything, so there are really no reasons why you would get a Xeon over a Core processor except to say you're running a Xeon because it sounds pretty cool.

They are not meant for anything else.

You see, drills are meant to bore holes, but i can also stick a wire brush tip to it and use it as an abrasive to remove rust from gates etc.

Xeons can be used in a gaming machine if you don't overclock and stream games live.Especially the E3 series. No problem at all. They are cheaper than i7.

Xeon E5 have a low clock speed except the X6Y7(Optional-W) series,X can be 1,2,4,8,Y can be 0,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9.Thus they are not as good for gaming.
