Compatible with my motherboard?

Wrenn123

Is there anyway to check to see if a GPU I want to purchase can run on my rig?

Yes it would be very helpful to see a list of specs

If your motherboard is not more than a decade old, and if you're buying a recent GPU, it almost certainly will be compatible with your board.

If you could tell us your system specs that would be beneficial though. At the very least, your CPU, your motherboard, and your desired GPU upgrade.

You will be good installing the 1070. Just be sure your power supply has the appropriate connectors and your all set!

The power supply has been a pain in my ass considering how small my case is.

Thanks for all the quick help everyone! I was going to buy a new PSU anyway.

OHH! I was mistaken, this is a prebuilt. In that case (haha, get it? case? im tired.) it might be a bit challenging to find a PSU, but i'm sure we can work it out. I am starting the research right now.

It will work.

If you can plug i7 3xxx in there, I'm pretty sure you can put GPU there also xD

Sorry for the late reply, somehow managed to brick chrome on the lot forum. Will fix later. Anyways from what I have seen, we will most likely need a 500W pus with these connectors:

1 x 20+4 Pin

1 x 4+4 Pin Connector
1 x 6 Pin

1 x 6+2 Pin

Then the usual MOLEX, SATA and other connectors.

Simplified Version:

Found out whats compatible, now need to find brand.

Alright. It looks like the "EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply" will work for this. The current lowest price is at Newegg and can be purchased here.

It has all the necessary connectors and should be able to power your computer with no issues.

I saw the PSU you showed above (thanks) and then i looked at the 600w of the same model and it is the same price.??? Is there any differences between them?

Okay somehow this ONE forum managed to brick my chrome browser. Whatever, ill stick with safari for this one.

Onto your topic, the 600W Would most likely be better if you can snag it for the same price due to the minimum recommended spec for the 1070 being 500W, and my suggestion cutting it close. So overall there is little to no difference from the 500W to the 600W.
