Guys I know that the reference model can be powered by a good 450w psu, but can this strix card can be run as well? a asus says it will take 100% of its power from the 8 pin connector, so can it run? an does any one knows how much will it draw from the 12v rail through the 8 pin connector...

might struggle depends on the rest of your system specs, but i doubt you would have any issues. :)

I5 4590 @ 4.0ghz (on a intel stock cooler runs nice and warm, 74c underload) 20gb ram, 2 480gb ssd, Rx 480 8gb(Soon to be 2 PowerColor Devils) 3tb seagate hdd, case well lets call it and open airbed

Yes the 450W is more than fine. I ran an overclocked and watercooled R9 290 on a garbage 400W PSU so the low power RX 480 should have no issues. I currently run a 380 which has an 8-pin and my new 450W does fine, has been for the past months.
