Asus Rx 480 Strix

Guys I know that the reference model can be powered by a good 450w psu, but can this strix card can be run as well? a asus says it will take 100% of its power from the 8 pin connector, so can it run? an does any one knows how much will it draw from the 12v rail through the 8 pin connector...

might struggle depends on the rest of your system specs, but i doubt you would have any issues.

I have i7 2700, 1 tb wb hdd,12 gb of ram, and psu of CM 450w psu

Yes the 450W is more than fine. I ran an overclocked and watercooled R9 290 on a garbage 400W PSU so the low power RX 480 should have no issues. I currently run a 380 which has an 8-pin and my new 450W does fine, has been for the past months.

that means amd cards don't need that much more power as they say, What I can think of now is that they print the worst case/the most that a system would need and they generalises the psu requirements

if u r using silverstone 450w it gives 37a of 12v rail a=mine gives only 21a of 12v rail now this is what I am worried about, I don't want to blow out any components from my pc, I love my pc
