As the title says, I am looking for a graphics card for gaming that is $190 or under. $190 is my budget, I might be able to squeeze 2 to 3 dollars in there but I can't really go over it. It has to include tax and shipping(tax here is 5%). (Assuming that shipping if free then I can buy a $180.50 card, in case if you think that I am being unreasonable making you do the math.) I can wait like 2 or 3 months and I don't really mind buying used, I am hoping for nVidia though, because my friend told me that they come with free stuff like a screen recording software. Thanks :D

TL;DR:

$190 Canadian GPU for gaming, hopefully nVidia, could be used.

I can wait 2 months. $190 must include tax and shipping(tax is 5%)

Thanks :D

He mentions in the post that it can be either.

At the $190 CAD mark, you could get a fairly good used card. I would look into a used GTX 970.

where would you reccomend to look? the only deal I could find on Craigslist related to a GPU was a 4 hour drive away? I tried ebay too and couldn't find anything.

I would just keep an eye out on craigslist, or similar sites where you can buy/sell stuff.

Check those sites every now and then to see if you can spot a deal. I've managed to buy like-new stuff for a like 30% of the new price. All it takes is patience and the right seller.

I'm bad at reading, okay? =(

It looks like the best you'll get new is like a GTX 950. Yay. Ebay has crap all, as per usual I suppose.

I the best card you can realistically buy used ~$200 are the GTX 770, GTX  960, or the R9 290.

R9 290:

Pros:

Most raw GPU horsepower

Cons:

Uses the most power/wattage

GTX 960:

Pros:

Newest card/ will get support for longer

Most power efficient/ uses the least amount of wattage

Cons:

the weakest overall card

GTX 770:

Pros:

you can get it for cheaper than~$200 CAD

more powerful than the GTX 960

Cons:

Older card/less future support

no DX 12 support

draws more power than the gtx 960 but less the r9 290
