well at least with access to Skype she can have video chats with family

that's what I do with my grandmother & other relatives in England

Hehe, NUC is cool. I got my mum a chromebook last year to replace her ancient HP thinkpad. She absolutely loves it and has managed to go a full year without 'breaking' anything, those things are bloody fool proof I recommend them to everyone now.
