Access point for T-shaped house

simonselmer

Hi all

I have a T-shaped house, and my router, ASUS RT-AC68U, is fortunately in the middle/intersection of the "T"-shape :)

But it's just not good enough to reach the edges of my house.

Would you recommended replacing my antennas on my router, or buy a new better accesspoint?

And which accesspoint would you recommended in that case for such a T-shaped house, meaning I need good coverage in 180 degrees.

Best regards

What size is your house? And what is it made out of?

You have multiple options in resolving the issue.

Option #1: Buy a better Access Point. Example:

This is the long range AP from Ubiquiti.

Option #2, install an Access Point in each "end" of the T, and keep the original one in the middle. Note, this is not ideal, and is equipment costly.

You may need to do a combination of the above. It all depends on what kind of signal coverage you get after trying different things.

You could replace the antennas, but I honestly doubt that will help much.
