Disk write error on Steam

So i just installed my new 1TB Hard Drive and and made a new steam library folder for it and started installing my updates but the new hitmans 4GB update wont download. It just goes out of the queue and says "disk write error". Dirty Bomb and the other updates install without any hassle but hitman refuses. Could it simply be because the game is in a different location on another drive? Dirty Bomb updates without a problem even though its on another drive as well. And yes i tried verifying the game cache and creating another steam library folder but neither worked.

Do a check disk on the drive, it is possible that there are some bad sectors.

Didnt seem to find anything, if i cant fix it i might as well reinstall hitman to the new drive, nothing to lose there as the progress should be in steam cloud.

I might try reformatting it. Full format not quick, if that still fails I think you have a faulty drive provided it refuses to let you write new data to it or existing data is corrupted.
