I'd go with the 990, I guess. I don't like the mid-bassy response on the AKG.

It really depends on what kind of sound you prefer, aka your preferred sound signature. I don't know about the K7XX but I do have the DT990 Premium 600 Ohms and it has a V-shape signature sound, boosted treble and bass (to some extend, not basshead level though). While I enjoy the treble sparkle, others may not, so again, this is  up to you and your preferred sig sound. The DT990 has great clarity and good soundstage (to me anyway), I enjoy the Beyerdynamic sound so much, I've even gotten a used DT770 Pro 250 Ohms (at about 75USD) that was on sale in the local forums here....as usual, wait for the audio big heads here to post with their esteemed impressions and opinions.

well the k7xx have a mid-bass boost and that males them neutral'ish but slightly warm, personally I am fine with them, I am not a big fan and I like their more analytical little brother, but the k7xx are pretty good value. The DT 990 I remember the first time I tried them and the highs were a bot too much for me, but I also tries them with music that had some sharp highs, they are very comfy and they have that slight bass boost also. I would say that a lot of people will find the dt990 more interesting to listen to and the k7xx a bit boring, what you will think about them, depends on what sound signature you like the most.
