cable extensions

hello all! I want to make my pc look nice so I am about to buy some cable extenders (orange,white and black)

I was just wondering if an 8 pin pci cable can extend to a 6 pin, (since my gpu only uses 6pin)

or should I just ger another 8 pin and tie the other 2 pin back.

You can get an 8pin to 6+2pin adapter tie the 2 extra pins back and hook the extension to that. That should work.

Just buy the correct 6 or 8 pin.

 

Cablemod's configurator lets you pick, 6 or 8 pin.

all I need is 6+2 pin to 6 pin, would that work.
