so every now and then i get that error when i try to transfer a compressed file onto a usb, the most recent the compressed size was about 4GB and the uncompressed was about 10GB, but i dont get it, the uncompressed file has no problem transfering onto the usb but the compressed file gives me that error, btw the usb drive is labeled 16GB

Had this problem too. There's nothing wrong with the drive, it's windows. Have you tried formatting the drive to NTFS?

never thought of that(mainly because i have no knowledge on this stuff)

If you have sensitive data then put it on the computer then right click on the drive then properties then format and select NTFS, it won't take long.

and when you compress, all the individual files in that folder (which are seperately smaller than 4GB) are combined into one big file, which exceeds the limit on fat32.

exactly, but now there are better formats like exFat out there for Linux users.
