Smudged thermal paste on my new mouse pad

I was stupid and decided take apart and repaste a Macbook I recently got off Gumtree while it's resting on my newly bought mouse pad from Hyper Japan and already smudged it when I was cleaning off the old paste from the motherboard, tried wiping it with 75% alcohol but no dice.

 

Is there any way to clean this mouse pad?:| I'm a little bit pissed since I only used it for less than 48 hours.

Welcome to the forume!

60% or higher rubbing alcohol dissolves TIM.

When in doubt, re-format.

At least you have something to remember when you try to do the same thing down the road.

Learn from mistakes.

 

Need to know the material in order to recommend ways to clean it.

That's why I got a mousemat with washable material where I can just soak it in soap + water, rinse  and dry it out.

As @pwn_intended mentioned, isopropyl alcohol dissolves TIM.

Oh lord it is a giant weaboo mouse pad. Just use rubbing alcohol and let it sit in the sun or just throw it in the washer on light

Alcohol will still do the trick and shouldn't dissolve your mousepad. For general care, a damp microfiber cloth, works fine too. I have used Lysol wipes as well but don't blame me if it affects the graphics on your pad.

When in doubt, re-format.
