Unknown Pre-boot password

Hi,

My friends son was playing with his laptop, and manged to set a preboot password. When ever the laptop boots, he is prompted to enter a password. His son doesn't remember it. How can he delete it? He needs his laptop up and running ASAP.

You will have to look at how to clear the CMOS on that laptop. Possibly you will have to open it up and find the small button battery on the motherboard and remove it, wait a few seconds, then put it back in.
