also in many GPU intensive scenarios it will botlleneck the 1060

Maybe.

Well you can try, and if it will bottleneck, just OC CPU as much as you can and see if that will help

 

Otherwise upgrade to i5 and problem solved.

Well I've got it up as high as 4.5Ghz before I hit thermal limits, and this is mainly to hold out until I have $1500 for a Broadwell-e system or a Skylake-X system (with a GTX 1080) and this one will be repurposed as a F@H machine/ guest machine (my 270X will stay in there for F@H as well)

Well in that case just buy GTX 1060, and OC your CPU untill you buy yourself new PC
