Reinstalling windows?

Go to solution Solved by kalious78,

yeah as it said should be fine, I have about 10hdds in this thing, keep music, movie, games, drivers and photos etc on all separate drives never had an issue when I redo windows.

At the end of this month I am going to be reinstalling windows due to mobo and cpu upgrade. I have 2disks. One for my OS. And one for my games. My question is, If i reinstall windows and reformat the OS disk but dont format the other will It keep all the files for whenever I launch into the new format of windows or will I need to format both disks?

should be fine just a matter of adding the shortcuts to ur start menu

Will windows recognise the D drive whenever I install the new os or Will I need to reformat it ?

Things that don't get installed will keep working (like video files, images and music). Things that do require installation (like games and other programs) might not. A lot of times, when you install a program it adds things to the registry and links to things in your C: drive. So when you format C:, those registry entries and the files it accesses on C: will not be the same.
