so I have connected everything in my pc except the psu. now just to double check before I end up frying anything, I need to do the following:

Connect the 24 pin to the motherboard

Connect the 12V to the motherboard

Connect an 8pin to my gpu(single 8pin).     are all 8pin ports the same?

Connect a 6pin to my ssd.      are all 6 pin ports the same?

have I missed anything?(I dont have an optical drive or another hdd/ssd)

PSU is a corsair HX750i

Thanks in advance for the help!

look up a build guide on youtube, they can explain it better than we can.

(i'd drop one in, but youtube is being a butt.)

everyone and everything seems to be a butt these days. I did, and this is what I was able to deduce. I'm double checking here incase I am wrong

basicly this:

- 24pin to the mobo, its usually on the right somewhere

- 8pin (4+4) cpu power to the mobo, usually up top on the left or right

- sata power to your storage devices (these are the long flat looking ones.)

- 8pin (6+2) to your graphics card

in theory you can do this blindfolded, since the shape of the connectors is "idiot-proof" and doesnt allow you to plug things in the wrong way.

You've got it all right, but since it's an i-PSU thingie you might want to connect the USB header to your motherboard and PSU to do some monitoring (never used the Link features from corsair, so I don't know if they are worth it or not).

According to the manual the layout from top to bottom and left to right is:

  • Peripheral Power (PP from hereon out), CPU EPS
  • PP, PP, GPU power, GPU power, GPU power
  • PP, PP, 24Pin ATX power

It's basically like a kids puzzle, you cannot connect anything wrong due to the shapes of the connector (unless you hulkforce them into the sockets)

alright thnx I will use the top right for my 12v, the one just below it for my gpu, and the 24 for the 24. a random 6 pin on the leftfor my ssd. about the i-PSU, I'm not sure how gd that is but since it is there I might as well use it. I assume it will connect to any usb header on the mother board right?
