Ok so I'm very new here as of like 3 mins ago lol but I've been watchin ltt on YouTube for awhile now. I was just hoping ppl on here would be able to help me out with suggestions here. I have recently decided I finally need a desktop for general things I could use it for at my house like doing orders for my business away from work, regular browsing on YouTube. But mainly I want to be able to run space engineers without it running shitty. If anyone is in love with this game and could suggest around a 500-550$ gaming desktop build to help me out here it would be greatly appreciated! I'm looking for the best internals for my $budget and not at all worried about how the end result looks as in the look/colors of the internals or case I just want to be able to multitask on a light level but definitely want space engineers to run and run as good as possible. Please be nice as I am very new and have only recently become somewhat acclamated to CPU internals due to ltt (thanks btw) but I'm definitely down to learn and will b very accepting of any advice I can get!!

Dude thankyou that was fast haha I really appreciate it!!! I guess I'll update this when I get everything in and together! Ill admitt I'm a noob but I've watched enough videos to where I'm pretty confident i can build it myself! I can skimp on the hdd I figure if I need to. I have a 2 tb external somewhere around here that I've kept anything important on for years now. But your confident that space engineers would run more than just okay? I'm seriously addicted to channels posting videos on that game and I can't imagine the time I'd put into it cause Building games and Space games consume me and S.E. is all in one right there lol but I know it's not a fully optimized game yet. I honestly don't plan on like streaming and playing cause streaming isn't my thing. But definitely will play tf outta it

Please don't yet.

there are better builds for an overall experience. trust me SE isnt the only game you will want to play.

AND PLEASE WAIT. GTX 1060 is just around the corner. seriously Ill GUARANTEE that you will regret it if you build it now. I understand you are hyped but please don't yet. wait like 1 month and if you can save another 100 or 200$ you will get a MUCH Better experience with EVERYTHING.

you can juice everything amazing out of PC gaming and not skimp out! trust me I regret not saving that extra little bit of money and I'm stuck with sub par ability's with a build not too different from the one you were suggested.

Like what you would ideally want if you aren't going to overclock your CPU
is some skylake i5 or maybe the Xeon E3-1231v3 heck even an i5-4460 would do you pretty good in the CPU Department.

preferably the skylake because of future upgrades. (your gonna have this computer for a long time wana look down the road and keep upgrading cheaper so you don't need to get new mobo's etc)

16gb of DDR3 or 4 (4 if skylake, although some people argue 8 is enough. alot of people here would probbaly agree with me more and more games are utilizing more than 8)

a GTX 1060 or RX 480 is right up your alley. just wait and look at benchmarks the 1060 isn't out yet and the RX480 had above 40% increases in Vulkan no idea on DX 12)

a good quality 500 or 600W PSU slightly overkill is always fine.

SSD is recommended them SE Load times are INSANE. and super fast boot times are always good :D

a decent HDD that is Internal you will hate the crappy speeds of externals unless you have like Thunderbolt or something. Recommend around 2 tb is pretty good

what ever case you like the design of. and some are easier to build in. I have the Thermal take H25 and I regret it XD.

it was difficult to build in the cables are making the otherside of my side panel bulge because there isn't enough space for it.

TLDR

Skylake i5

16gb ram

GTX 1060 or RX 480 *WAIT FOR BENCHMARKS BEFORE CHOOSING*

Case of your choosing. (its something you will likely stick with for quite awhile its always good to have a sexy case and just admire your PC)

Quality PSU don't grab some Chinese one because it looks fine. Worst case scenario it can destroy your system and take all the parts with it. Don't gamble on this.

SSD+HDD Combo

it'll set you anywhere around 7 to 800 dollars but IT will be MUCH Better. like your experience will be SEVERAL times better.

I'm sure there will be. I do have a xb1 tho I just don't have alot of time on my hands with running a business and I figured if I was gonna play anything space engineers would take up alot of my time I'd be spending on the new computer

well I'm guessing you are able to run a business on the machine you are using right now so there probably isn't a need to have the PC right now? (Correct me if I'm wrong I'm just assuming your situation) I can really guarantee and I believe from the bottom of my heart that waiting like 1 month so all for the 1060 is out and saving just a little more money will give you a better experience.

I do understand that I'm just trying to keep my spending around/ under 600. I mean I'd love to have an 800$ rig but idk if I can do that any time soon. but anyways I'm using just a laptop for the business. It's mainly doing orders left and right and payroll and it does fine as long as I'm not crowding it up with other stuff

Ok so will someone tell me if I can do better than this rig for the price literally just citing space engineers as a reference to how it will run the game

that build will do terribly in games for $500.
