Posted July 17, 2016 Wait for the GTX 1060 and see how that turns out. The ASUS RX 480 STRIX is coming out mid-August, and knowing the ASUS, the cooling will likely be so-so. Consider the Sapphire Nitro which is projected to release in the next week. 'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum. Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply. Posted July 17, 2016 There isn't really any merit in the "Nvidia vs AMD" argument for 99% of people. recently, Nvidia has had better top tier cards, and AMD has had better pricepoints for their cards. Of course its quite easy to find exceptions to this statement, but hopefully no one gets their panties in a twist for me making it. For you as a buyer, get whatever card you can afford and want. AMD or Nvidia will not make a difference. Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/627781-what-gpu/#findComment-8097732 Share on other sites
 Sapphire makes the best AMD cards, but we have not yet seen the real performance of the 1060, so I would say that it would be worth waiting for the 1060 to drop and if the 1060 is better get a EVGA card then.
