Connection timed out on HFM

I have my sig rig monitored with HFM but when i try to add another client in HFM I get "connection timed out" after a second...im entering the correct ip address and password for that client.
when i do cmd>ipconfig on my host pc (this one) i get a page of "media disconnected" (im connected through lan and i obviously have internet..) so i cant find its ip address.
when i try to monitor in the F@H client both secondary pc's are constantly "connecting" and never connect.
all pc's are connected to a router through lan and have internet, the 2 other pc's show thier ip's in cmd>ipconfig but my main sig rig doesnt.

oh and my ppd is around 3500 (reported) on this pc on medium (75%, 4 cores, no gpu, but on full it drops to 2500..the hell?

Well then you have some serious networking issues - One thing I would do, especially if monitoring, set everything with a static IP. First off, the the remote systems, you have to tell them what the IP of the monitoring system is. SO, if you host PC gets a new IP via DHCP, no work. And, the systems you are monitoring, if their IP's change, boink...

 

Set everything with static IP's - at least folding.

 

Do you know enough about networking and such? Remember, most home routers make VERY large DHCP scopes. So, check what the current scope is. Might be from .2 to .254. Narrow it down so the IP's you use for static are not ever in the scope range. I typically make my DHCP scope from like .100 to .150

 

Now, you can set some static IP's. On the main, say .10, then .11 on the other one, and so on.

 

On .11, in the remote access conifg, in the IP address restriction section, in the Allow, leave a space after 127.0.0.1 and add in x.x.x.10 (putting in whatever the real ip is). Then in the Password IP address restriction section, also add a space after 127.0.0.1 in the Allow and put in the .10 ip. Restart the client. And not just close Advanced view and open back. You need to kill all the FAH processes and restart. I usually just reboot.

 

Make sure ALL firewalls on local PC's have a TCP exception for 36330, the default port.

 

As for the difference in PPD - don't worry about it - the client calculator for PPD is kinda wacked. Just let it run for a while. When you switch from Medium to Full it needs time to sort itself out. If you are flipping it back and forth a lot "testing", well now, you have just thrown poor old FAH into a tizzy. :)
