Ethernet connection drops

Flanelman

Hey guys, so my Ethernet connection keeps dropping maybe 2-3 times a day? If i unplug it the WiFi works straight away, or if i leave it for 3-4 minutes it eventually comes back on but it's very frustrating. Just wondering if anyone here might know why that is? Possibly be a faulty cable? but I find it weird it goes on and off thought it would just not work all together.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Unplug your router and leave it off for a few mins then plug it back in.

try troubleshooting the router or modem. it could be either one of the 2 sometimes a simple turning it off and back on fixes this and sometimes it requires replacement of either one.

I would suggest, in addition to trying the things mentioned above, that you try a different cable too. If it's on the verge of broken or wasn't terminated properly, you might experience occasional issues.
