Hi so I just got back  from a trip from japan and I bought a dvd there (i live in Canada). When i put the dvd in my acer travel mate laptop widows media popped up like normal but instead of playing my movie it sent me a prompt saying that there was a region issue so i selected japan as my second region and now this happened "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because it is not possible to turn on analog copy protection on the output display. Try installing an updated driver for your video card." i really need some help im in a bind and would be devastated if i could not watch my dvd thanks for the help

I'm moving this to the Programs section since it's not peripheral related, most likely a software solution.

If worst comes to worst, there is probably software out there that will let you play it no matter what...

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Stop buying physical media in regions other than the region you bought your computer in. Regions exist to prevent piracy. That being what it is, any method used to unlock a region locked thing is going to amount to cracking it.

It sucks, but that's the way it is. Buy digital media instead.

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME
