simply for fun, i want to write an operating system to a flash drive and mine bitcoins on an old computer of mine. i know it wont be productive in the slightest, but I want to have a bit of fun. For this use, I am looking for an operating system that is made simply for GPU mining with a mining pool. if one does not exist, then could someone suggest a program for some free form of linix?

You could just install Linux or Windows even onto a flash drive... Don't know of anything specific - most of the mining scripts need to be install in the OS - Windows or Linux
