Not to try and sound rude but Elric should have had some other chat program then Skype. Lets think about it for a minute the steam always had a lag issue and when they stopped using Skype it was all better. The moment Elric came on using Skype the stream was doomed from then on. Don't get me wrong I like Elric I think hes a great guy and all but Skype should be banned form here on when it comes to the stream both Linus and Slick should both uninstall it and if someoen wants to come on the show they must use some other chat program. i was actually enjoying this stream and it doesn't seem like its coming back any time soon. i hope Linus or Slick see this post and seriously consider removing Skype from their PCs.

Like Razer Comms are better. The .dll in some cases cause OS to act crazy when you do something with soundcard. Read how many topics are about it.

There isnt single software like that that cannot be hacked. If someone has the skills and really want to they can hack anything.

True but its better to have a small glitch on the stream then get DDOSed and have the entire stream down until they fix the problem.

They can't stop using it. It's a standard for communication world wide sadly. A lot of their company contacts use skype and will not change because it works.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

Plus in many cases its way to communicate with sponsors and ask sponsors "can you use Razer Comms"?

Even if that's true they should not use it at all during a stream then because someoen always causes a problem.

Yes but Skype is basically just like who wants to have a go at hacking me and anyone can step up and get an IP address. i know nothing is unhackable but so far Comms is in beta and they have not been DDOSed using it on the stream.

To be honest i never trusted software made by Razer. Had Lycosa in 1.0 firmware and after i installed software for it from Razer site it went to 1.2 on firmware and touchpanel went to sh*t. Had installed Razer Comms to check them out - dont like stuff like that to run .exe file even if it didnt start with Windows. Im strict with stuff running in the background...

Skype is used to contact people and in this case propably sponsors like WD. Even if the risk is high companies dont care about it and use it soo will have to people like Linus.

Even if a major company uses Skype their connection is most likely more then fast enough to handle some punks DDOSing them and not even effect the network a bit but Elric and Linus don't have like a 100Gbit connection. Either way i think they shoudl drop Skype completely unless its 100% necessary.

Comms barely works.

Add that .dll file to screw up your OS and you have Razer software

.

To be honest i like how Logan said it on last Tek (Inbox to be precise) - he and rest of the crew take only sponsor they feel that make some nice products. Razer does some nice stuff, but they need to stay away from software...

Comms barely works. The last time I used it, people could hear my mic for 3 hours and my laptop was asleep. Teamspeak may be the answer for guest call ins during the stream.

Once comms is out of beta I'm sure it will be fine.

But the bandwidth might be to much for the stream.
