Totally agree. If OP isn't looking to OC then I would go for the Zotac Amp Extreme as the base is as high as the FE boost and the boost takes the core past the magic 2000mhz.

Just beware it is a three slot monster!

On my short list as an option. Just waiting on the reviews of the HOF and FTW Hybrid.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Sure. I'm keeping a beady eye on Kingpin. I read somewhere they have managed to get 2.5ghz on their own vbios. If they retail that then wow...

Also read (Very much rumour) that there could be the 1080ti on the horizon. Gamescon on Aug 17th should let us know more. I imagine the Pascal Titan would be revealed first, then the 1080ti a little after.

I wondering if should W/C my 1080 or hold on and sell it once the best aftermarket 1080ti comes out. I want lots of HBM2. Lots.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy a GeForce graphics card straight from the manufacturer instead if a 3rd company by EVGA or MSI? I don't care about overclocking and would be happy with a vanilla graphics card.

Yes but only pascal cards (1080 and 1070 and soon 1060 and 1050? if it happens) http://www.geforce.com/hardware

You will get the founder's edition from nvidia.

Any other card... 900 series and 700 series cannot be bought directly via nvidia

The 1080ti is going to be too rich for my blood. I'm all for overkill but with the APM Extreme costing 730us, the same I paid for my Hybrid 980ti. I'm just not ready to cross the 800us mark for a GPU.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Yeah I totally get that. I'm kind of lucky as I teach on a Video Games Degree so I chalk it down to 'work tools'.

Or so I tell myself as clutch my credit card statement crying...

But buy AIB if you like looks and low temps and don't intend to W/C in the future.

FYI. Many aftermarket cards have custom blocks for them. Msi, Evga and even cards from Palit. Those are the cards I'd be more willing to water cool. But since GPU Boost is so dependant on thermals. Everyone stands a chance to gain. Its now a matter of how much voltage you want to push

Only reference cards I'd water cool are the 290/x ones. They're monsters. Load up a PT1 bios and boom.
