riched32.dll error 0xc000012f on Windows 8 Pro

Hi,

 

Recently I have been getting this error when I'm supposed to accept the EULA for a Sysinternal program. I can still accept the EULA without see it, bu I'd like to fix this error because it's an error.

 

This error appears to pop up when a rich text widget is called, the error code is 0xc000012f, the computer doesn't have problems running.

 

Reinstalling Windows is not an option.

Try sfc /scannow

I still have the error once I rebooted after the scan.

I also tried this:

> sfc /VERIFYFILE=C:\Windows\System32\riched32.dllWindows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

Edit: I booted with the Windows 8 setup image on an USB drive, ran the console and typed:

sfc /scannow /offbootdir=D:\ /offwindir=D:\windows\

This worked like a charm.

 

I tried running DISM and got the error code: 0x800f0906, the command I used was

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

DISM could not download the files.
