Just curious and not sure where to look online but I have a i5 6700 with stock cooling and was wondering if idle temp of 35c and game load (mainly games like Starbound and rocket league) is 50c max good or high. Should I upgrade to corsair water cool system or are those good temps. Thanks to all that answer this noob question

My rig, msi gaming m5 z170, i5 6700 not oc, 16 gig ram Samsung 500gig ssd wd blue 1tb hdd, corsair 600c inverted cage.

Ps these temps are from my mobo on board code thingy. Not a program like msi cpu-z thing.

msi gaming m5 z170, msi gtx 1070 gaming z 8g, I5 6500 cpu, corsair carbide 600c, corsair vengence 32gig

Those are good temps. That's average for a stock cooler at idle and that's actually a really good temp under load. As long as it doesn't go over 70C you're fine. There's no need to water cool an non-k chip. You can't overclock it anyway to cause the chip to produce more heat. If you ever got really concerned for temps just get a really nice air cooler from Noctua, Cryorig, or one of Cooler Masters air coolers.

Oh OK thank you. I was wondering since I am a noob at this. I was a ps4 user but wanted more power XD. And I was looking at the cooler Master v5 monster looking thing xD

Oh lord that cooler would have been way overkill for a locked CPU but it would get the job done. Only reason you should ever need to get a new cooler is for aesthetic reasons. Like you have a case with a window and you just want your cooler to look cool.
