overclocking my 980ti

Bl00dgod

my 980ti SC+ ACX 2.0+ is without OC

i use msi afterburner to monitor it

would you recommend the evga software instead to control fan curves and OC?? i think its called precision or something like that

i guess firestrike free version should be ok

after i´ve seen what lays did with his 980ti ´s on air and with LN2 cooling he was on a gtx1080 niveau impressed me

any tips, beside the fact to slowly increase volt + hz ^^

temps should be fine if the fans spin high enough

thanks in advance

I like PrecisionX a little better than Afterburner but it's personal preference. Use ether and max out your voltage and power limit. Start with the core and once you get that overclocked as high as it will be stable see if you can overclock the memory.

Good luck!

If anyone asks you never saw me.

If you really want to push your card, mod the BIOS and unlock the power table, this will really let you open it up.

I use precisionX to do all of my overclocking, though you can use afterburner if you prefer that instead. No real difference either way.

tips? Increase by small amounts I di 10MHz test if stable, if it is increase again if its not increase volt by a small amount test if stable then start over.

the tool doesn't really matter I like after burn but use which ever you like best.

take it slow don't increase voltages too high and keep an eye on temps.

@MrBucket101 @App4that@vorticalbox

Is it important in which resolution the Benchmark runs? Running 1440p

Stock gpu 1316core/ 1753vram                            Firestrike 14691

only gpu   1432core /1753vram         ( +15mv core volt )      Firestrike 15199

gpu+vram 1443core /1851vram        Firestrike 15569 http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/13054722

msi afterburn settings powerlimit 110"max"       corevoltage +30mv        coreclock +114mhz         memoryclock was set to +200mhz only increased by 100

couldnt see temp while firestrike because it turned the 2nd display "blackscreen"  but i guess it was ok with fan max rpm

some tests had the core at 1459 but i dunno how to get the vram higher

the RAM isn't the best overclocker, I couldn't get mine past 8000mhz, and even then it was only stable in synthetic benchmarks and would crash in games.
