Xeon or i7 CPU?

Xeon or i7 CPU? Building a video editing workstation and debating between a Xeon or i7 as my CPU. My machine will be working with 4K footage, basic 3D rendering, VR work. I use the Adobe Creative suite.

 

Debating between the Intel Xeon E5-2620 V4 2.1GHz 8-Core Processor or i7-6900K Broadwell-E.

The i7 6900K would out preform the Xeon in probably everything. They both have 8 cores with hyperthreading, but the clock speed of the i7 will boost not only single threaded work loads, but also multithreaded work loads as well.

if you ask me.... is it worth ? i7 over xeon? its like double the price even more.... I dunno about that.....

ohh no ok...sry i missed the V4

i thought he was talking about the original V1 which is sandy bridge from 2012...either way the i7 is better.

cause lately everybody been talking about those old chips available for 80$ online or something...sorry!

You can find V3's and V4's on Ebay for relatively cheap so you could get a 14core for less than that 6900k.
