Good morning (at least here in Berlin, Germany :))

I need help making a decision. The options are as follows:

upgrade

Mobi to Gigabyte Gaming G1

CPU to 6700k

Ram to 16gb (or 32?) corsair dominator ddr4-3600

GPU to Gigabyte 1080 g1 Gaming (or xtreme Gaming)

problem here is, my display is rather old (LG W2452TX) and can't take advantage of die new graphics power.

Second option is to upgrade to the new GPU and get an Acer Predator x34a.

This woul'd bring better graphics, question is: is my old system capable of handling this oder not.

my actual system: http://www.sysprofile.de/id173381

another question (and the last i promise): what gpu. I want to watercool the system. I could now get the g1 gaming, as there is alteady an waterbkock from EKWB or i get the xtreme Gaming witch has more power, but there is actual no block.

Maybe the Customer Support at EKWB can help, will mail them :D

thx for the replies

Jan

OK, Are the options all you are going to upgrade or is that what you have to choose from?

Based on my interpretation of your question (which might be wrong)

1. i7 6700k needs an LGA 1156 and your current board is LGA 1155.

2. you will need a 6600k minimum to not bottleneck a GTX 1080

3. 16 GB of ram isnt needed unless if you are running cad software or davinci resolve

4. The components listed are kind of dependent on each other so if you upgrade one you will have to upgrade the other- GPU and CPU

Also welcome to LMG forums. :)

It's "upgrade the system" (cpu+board+gpu+ram) or gpu+display only. I know, probably I should wait until in can afford the system and the display, but .... :)

I thought 16gb ram would be enough for the future, don't wanted to add sticks :)

No german translation needed, google translate is still horrible :D
