How is ultra-wide support?

LittleCarrot

I am planning to buy a new monitor. I was looking into ultra-wide type monitors, since I owned one before. I returned my old Ultrawide due to the lack of content. Has the content improved?

Do the majority of my games have ultrawide support? Here is my steam profile: https://steamcommunity.com/id/LittleCarrot

I remember watching Netflix and black bar galore. I got mine in the beginning of October.

pretty much all new games support it. You're going to have issues with older games, and some of the not so old ones are going to require small hacks in order for it to work (but most work fine when you do). Many of the cheaper games out there wont support it, even if they are newer games, but that is just how it is. Most online video content is still 16:9, but more websites are coming around.

I don't know what sort of issues you could have had last year that wont be around this year..... but 21:9 support is pretty good nowadays from what I hear (although I've never owned one)

i have the um 67 and when i use it for gaming its perfectly fine, but every once in a while when i really look into the details. the pixles are noticeable and the edges do seem a bit too blurry. also the um67 does not wanta overclock at ALL with my gtx970, it is advertised as a 75hz monitor but can only achieve 75 hz with amd free sync. but despite those kinda make or break flaws, my over all experience with the 34um67 is pretty good. as for the Samsung one i have no experience whatsoever with, but it comes down on whether you are willing to sacrifice screen size for image quality as 34 inches can be a bit blurry outside of games.

again, its up to personal preference, i don't think the the curves display is nessary at 27 inches so if you don't mind too much about pixel density and mainly game, i would say go for the um67 as you will not notice the pixel density once you are actually in game. but if you do a lot of productivity and stuff outside of fast action games such as video editing, image editing, reading fine print, then go for the 27. then again these are all just my personal opinion, your eye might be sharper than mine so it really would be best for you to look at the 34um67 yourself and decide whether the pixel density is too low.

Any 1440P monitors you can recommend? Around the same price point?

Well, I just sold my Ultrawide in favor of a 144Hz Panel literally a week ago ^^ It was nice and all, but the games I play either didn't support it or didn't really make a difference for me. Yeah sure it looks pretty neato but I'd pick a 16:9 144Hz Monitor over a 21:9 anytime.(Also, I just couldn't find any really good 21:9 wallpapers >_<)

It's an ASUS MG248Q. I really like it. I only have a GTX 960 so I didn't quite want to make the jump to the PG278Q (forgive me if that's not the right name) bigger brother.
