I have been holding off on a new gpu for awhile. I'm waiting for the pascal based Titan. Does anyone know how preordering a gpu works so that I don't have to wait months after they come out to be available?

As with any product whether physical or software, it's best to wait until reviews come out (some are before the release date) so you can see how it performs. It might have problems or bugs that hurt the product's value and/or use.

First build every: Intel Core i7 4790K, Asus Z97-A/USB 3.1 motherboard, Kingston HyperX FURY 1866 2x8 16GB Kit, Gigabyte Windforce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, Corsair Obsidian 450D Black ATX Mid Tower, Samsung 850 EVO 250GB & 3TB Toshiba HDD, EVGA SuperNOVA 750W G2, Corsair H100i GTX 240mm, Gigabyte Bluetooth 4.0/Wifi Card, Logitech G700S. Running on Windows 10

Surface Pro 3: i5 4300U with 8GB of ram and 256GB SSD. Running Windows 10 Pro

There's nothing that's going to compete with a Titan P. 16g of HBM2 and 50% more powerful at least than the best 1080. When tested with Broadwell E the CPU was still a bottleneck xD its a monster.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Where did I mention competition? ? It's all about early adoption being a bad idea!

This is the Titan P, not a RX 480 ;) It won't change. Just dominate.

This is preordering. It's always smart to wait and not jump the gun ?

When you're not talking about the most powerful and advanced graphics card in the world. Do you know how hard the Titan P will be to get as it has 16g of very hard to come by HBM2? Normal rules do not apply. This is if you have to ask the price move along territory.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

When you're talking about a released card that proves this and that it's "perfect" like you think it is please comment back otherwise don't waste your time...

What? Who say anything about perfect? xD It has no competition, and will be extremely hard to get at launch. OP asked about pre ordering, not the waiting room xD

Lol all I have been talking about is preordering ?. You've derailed this thread by talking about its competition and it's hyped performance. Come back on topic ?

It's a Titan P. It's going to be the fastest graphics card on the planet, cost as much as a used car, and not have anything that will effect its value. Because its a ****ing Titan P. Buy it day one, buy the last one made. Same card because it's a Titan P. If you were talking about the 1080ti, I'd totally agree. It's going to have GDDR5X, not HBM2 like the Titan P. Your advise will have them waiting months to own one.

Why is that bad advise? Re read this post.

It's horrible advice reread my comments. Never buy day one for anything. Wait til reviewers get their hands on it before you buy. Idc if it's a freaking spacecraft. You should always wait til reviewers get the products first. It's what smart consumers do. I suggest you and many others should take this advice to save yourselves hassle, frustration and overpaying.

Arg, not with everything. But you won't be buying a Titan P. So there's that.

You're approaching it from the perspective of someone who cares in the slightest about price to performance. Titan buyers don't.

Oh you know they're going to be. HBM2? At least 1500 bucks. The 1080ti should come in at 1000us.

If Titan P is GP100 then I'd imagine it'll go for about $1199, maybe $1299. GP102 1080Ti for maybe $850 FE and then $820 for the average AIB card. GPU prices have gotten so ridiculous. Even AMD, all the reviewers rave about the $199 RX 480 but all you see in stores are the $240-$260 RX 480 8GB.

Yeah but the jump from 1080 to 1080ti is much larger than the 980 to 980ti. As in over 50% on the reviewed samples so far.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

You don't listen... I get your point, I follow that point, and I've followed that point since before you were likely born. Your point doesn't work on a Titan because a Titan is the worst possible price to performance there is. Obscenely bad. The Titan is about status, and nothing will change that as long as it rules the roost. AMD isn't on the same field with Nvidia at the high end. A titan is a name, not a fps figure...

If anyone asks you never saw me.
