i think you want a minimun of 5mbps to be an HD stream under the Upload speed, even 10mbps i mean, i have 200mb symetrical and no issues, but twitch doesnt seem to like me as sometimes HD streaming wont work even with my overkill connection, also it depends on the streaming service you are using

what program are you using, and what service, the only way of knowing is doing a test and asking friends "how does it look"

just keep increasing the KBPS until your network cant handle it anymore, otherwise it looks smooth and nice 360-480p quality

it doesnt matter as long as it isnt the same PC that is streaming and gaming at the same time you dont need something beyond what you have

Most streaming services limit the intake bandwidth of non-partners. (You can google each service's individual limits, as each one is different.)

Realistically, unless your a Twitch partner, anything around 5+ mbps will be sufficient in most cases (Assuming you don't have packet loss). (Twitch non-partners are limited to 3500 kbps)

This is why non-partner streams never turn out as good as you think they will with faster internet plans. End of the day, your being capped to 3500 kbps.

This is why I normally stream @ 720p @ 30 fps, because 1080p just lacks sharpness @ 3500 kbps, and keep a separate 1080p recording for Youtube. The only exception is games that use little CPU, where I can tick the encoding speed one or two settings slower and get acceptable 1080p. (I don't stream enough to warrant setting up a 2 PC streaming setup.)

On that upload, I'd follow allow at least 15% of your upload for other applications and the remaining up to 85% on streaming.

(I also round down to multiples of 250 kbps, so I'd stick to a maximum of 2000 kbps, something like 480p @ 25 or 30 fps depending on the amount of action happening on screen. Depending on the streaming PC's CPU, I'd consider selecting one setting slower than the default if there is the headroom, each setting in OBS for example increases CPU utilization by 8-10% per thread for me).
