Theoretically you should be able to overclock via BCLK because of the Hyper board having a separate BCLK generator.

I assumed you would be doing 1080p gaming. This build isn't objectively quite as good as aytex's His build will give you better FPS in most games due to having that stronger GPU. But compared to my build, thats the only thing he wins in. If you get the build I suggested, you could use it for many years. and then when the RX 480 becomes too slow, you spend ONLY the money on a GPU instead of budiling another whole computer. I also made the build a bit aesthetically pleasing with a black and white colour scheme. Up to you wether you're into that or not. but thats the build

Feel free to ask any questions

Also, it supports crossfire, so when one RX 480 is no longer enough in a couple years (or if you just wanted that dual GPU swag), you could buy another RX480 (there will probably be a bunch of cheap used ones around 125-175 at that point) and drop it in there if you wanted. 2 RX 480's approach the territory of 1080 in many games, and beat the 1070 in almost all games.

480 is quite a bit less powerful than a 1070. its about on par with a 970. Its not a 4k card. it cant even really do a great job of 1440p (although it does a decent one). its a 200 dollar card, its excellent for its price, but its not a world class powerhouse.

so with Aytex's build it only has 8 gbs of ram and its ddr3. I think i like yours better

That is the thing with Aytex's build. like I said, his IS the better system for now. it will give you better performance in games compared to mine, but it doesn't really give you any future compatibility. Another thing is his choice of motherboard. whilst any one motherboard compared to another wont give you any performance boost (unless its an overclocking board, then things can sometimes be better), there is so much more to choosing a motherboard than that. his motherboard does not come with modern features like m.2, USB 3.1, USB C and so on. And like you said, its DDR3, DDR4 is the way forward now. so any money invested in DDR4 is a good one. And like I said, its a REALLY cheap upgrade path. in a few years when you would normally spend another 1000 dollars on a computer, with this build you can instead spend 1000 dollars on JUST a GPU like a titan (if for some reason you wanted to spend that much) and end up with an extreme class gaming rig =). Or like I suggested earlier, buy another used RX 480 for dirt cheap and drop it in there crossfire style =)

I never did ask.... What monitor are you planning on running with this setup? before I solidify my recommendation for your budget, that would be a good thing to know ;P

1080? 1440? 60hz? 120hz? 144hz+? an RX 480 will do a hell of a job of any game at 1080p at pretty much any setting you want at 60Hz. but if you want some 144Hz gaming, and max graphics, an RX 480 probably wont get you there.

Im using a (not so good monitor) Acer X203H

Hey man, if you like your screen, then your screen is fine. an RX 480 is probably overkill for a screen like that tbh. You should be able to run almost any game at max settings and keep it pinned at max framerates the entire time. You certainly don't need a 1070 or 1080 for a monitor like that =)
