I have been rocking a 3930k for 4-5 years now. I do rendering, heavy multitasking, and I host a modded minecraft server occationally.

I was thinking if I should upgrade to x99.

Should I? Should I weight?

Do I go for the 10 core (assume it costs 900 as I can sell my current stuff)

I also have to upgrade the gpus(680s) at some point as I do game and plan to get into vr

Do I wait for the ti?

The issue with waiting is you will always be able to find a time and place to wait for new silicon. If you have the cash, get in now. You will see astronomical gains in performance over your old GPU setup. Wait for the Ti, or wait for the 1090 (or what have you..). It is a tough call, but IMHO I would buy into pascal now.

Personally I would, considering the last two ti release prices. While shulgin has a point, the fact that the tis are usually just under the titan for significantly less should factor in. It's not like you don't have a decent gpu setup. Waiting 6-8 months might be your best bet. Unless you're fine with a gpu being released in about 6 months (or however long) that is a significant step up for just a bit more than what you paid. (Or the same if it happens like the 980ti)

My rig:
CPU: i5 4690k 24/7 @4.4ghz (1.165v) Max 4.7ghz (1.325v) COOLER: NZXT Kraken X61 MOBO: Asus Z97-A   RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical   GPU: EVGA GTX 970 SSC   PSU: EVGA GS 650W   CASE: NZXT Phantom 530 HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + WD Black 2TB
