Hey, I was hoping you could make sure I'm not making a really dumb decision. Recently I built a new PC with all new hardware. All new except for my power supply. I went from an AMD Phenom 2.4Ghz quad core with an EVGA GTX 550 Ti to an Intel 4790k with an EVGA 980 SSC ACX 2.0. The old power supply is a Thermaltake TR2-600NL2NH. This power supply served me well as I upgraded from some crappy OEM graphics card to my new 550 Ti. However, after building the new rig I have begun to notice some peculiarities. while it was stable in the old build now when I place my computer under load it begins to experience crashing. Sometimes its just the application and on an odd occasion it is my entire system (no BSOD or anything). This was a minor annoyance until this morning when I was browsing the web and the system completely crashed and rebooted. So while I was at work today I did some googling and from what I could find it seems it could possibly be my PSU. I took this as a sign from the gods to replace my now 6ish year old power supply. The powersupply I am looking at getting is an EVGA superNOVA 650w G2.

Basically what I am asking is, does this sound like a PSU issue? Also, what are your thoughts on this powersupply? JonnyGuru gave it a 9.6/10 and its pricing isn't terrible.

One last note. During all of the crashes my GPU and CPU have been running at or around 75 degrees.

@Scatoogle I don't know for sure if the powersuply is the problem but seeing that it isn't even an 80+ one, an upgrade after 6 years is maybe a good idea anyway.

I'm considering it an investment on my next rig. I'm super excited but it's also super expensive.

If it's too much then the GQ 650W should be cheaper.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
