I would like to know whether there are any recommendations for audio switches.

Requirements are listed below

Input: RCA

Number of inputs: At least 2

Output: Preferably 3.5mm jack, but anything will do (ground loop filter I have at the moment has a fixed 3.5mm input, which is using 3.5mm to RCA adapter)

Number of outputs: 1 is fine

Remote: If it has one, its a plus. If not, its also fine.

Sound quality: Something that will not degrade sound quality at all, or very minimally (this is important, but I have no idea whether a simple switch actually does impact sound quality or not)

I wouldn't imagine it would cost too much, but I do not have budget constraint.

Do you not currently have a receiver/amp that does this?

If not, that would be my recommendation- replace you're amp.

Most speaker amps have one output and multiple RCA inputs and shouldn't colour the sound.

Don't see why you want to introduce another device to do this job, but please do explain further if I'm wrong :)

I don't think you would be wrong, but since explanation of my situation might not be a bad idea so here we go.

I currently use speaker + subwoofer system. Yamaha HS5 + HS8S, which is primarily connected to my "convenience" external-sound-card/DAC Creative Sound Blaster X7 Limited Edition. Its primarily a gaming audio device.

I also have another DAC, Burson Audio Conductor, which does sound better to me. It could just be placebo, but it feels that way. At least it is void of occasional pop/hiss that I get from X7 (its very faint but its there occasionally).

Regardless of which device I use to connect with my speaker system, it has ground loop issue that is only solved by using a ground loop isolator. The one I that I could find locally was pretty darn expensive (Radial StageBug SB-5), but it gets the job done very well.

My speaker system (technically Yamaha HS8S subwoofer, as its the one receiving input and sends non-sub frequencies to Yamaha HS5) does have two inputs. One XLR and one TRS. I do not know whether they can be used at the same time or not.

I am assuming an audio switch would be more inexpensive and worry-free alternative than trying to buy another Radial StageBug SB-5 and hoping that the XLR and TRS input can be used at the same time.

Makes sense.

Didn't realise you had powered speakers too (amp is built into speakers).

In that case, I'd recommend one of these:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cables-ALL-Phono-Audio-Switch/dp/B007VSFA2M/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1467629313&sr=8-3&keywords=rca+switch

(Amazon search for "rca switch").

Then use RCA to 3.5mm adapters where needed (these are also cheap as hell on Amazon).

Not sure whether amazon is a good option for you in HK or not, but if not, at least you know what you're looking for now :)

The only thing it doesn't have is remote control.

Hope this helps :)

So basically, pretty much anything that is audio switch is about equal (as long as its not faulty, of course), right?

Yea, as long as it's analogue (RCA, 3.5mm, XLR, etc.) :)
