$1100 AUD Build Suggestions

I also forgot to mention that I recently bought a previously used but unopened GTX 970 with receipts and warranty for $150 but I want to know weather it's worth selling or keeping

You can use it now and then sell it away once you can afford a GTX 1060 or even a 1070.

Gday folks!

I am getting a new PC soon and decided to get some possible ideas from the community. I already have a rough Idea what I want and that will be listed bellow. I mainly want it for gaming and everyday use and would really prefer it to have a green team GPU only. Sorry to those AMD users but after owning 3 AMD cards, I never want one again. Budget (as in title) is $1100 AUD max $1180. I would also prefer the rig to be in an S340. I love the simple look of the front and sides. I DO NOT need storage devices, operating system, CPU cooler and peripherals. I would like to pick the parts up locally to avoid shipping costs so the two closest shops to me are MSY (http://www.msy.com.au/nsw/ultimo/) and Umart (https://www.umart.com.au/umart1/pro/index.phtml?bid=11).

So to sum it up:

  • $1100-$1180 AUD max budget
  • No AMD GPU's
  • Overclocking would be nice but is not needed
  • No Storage device or OS
  • Prefer the S340 case
  • Only the two specified shops

Please remember these ideas that you contribute are just something for me to work on. :)

Thanks for any help and sorry for being really specific!

Only reason I'm asking is because you will never afford the 10 series and the 9 series are beaten by their AMD counterparts.

You can swap the 390 for a 970 if you wish, but you are trading away some performance and VRAM.

Just going to ask you to look at my signature here... Whatever your problems with AMD was, it doesn't dictate the quality of all AMD GPUs. You're just unlucky. That goes for NVIDIA cards as well.

An aftermarket RX 480 will fit your budget perfectly. So either cop the AMD card or wait for what NVIDIA has to offer with the GTX 1060.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I'm perfectly aware that AMD has some really good products out there and I know it does happen to Nvidia as well. It's just personal preference.

Since you have a gtx 970 now, might as well don't get a new gpu, or sell it to get a gtx 1070.

For now, this is the best build for the money for your use cases. I'll try to make a build from your selected stores, but the price difference of alternate parts could possibly outweigh the shipping costs of my (cheaper) recommended components.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.
