I'm building a pc for my bday! Here are the issues. I am in need of some decent memory that wont break the bank. Since I'll be editing and gaming I'll need at least 16gb of the stuff. I have picked out most of my parts

and sadly I will have to stick with the lga 1150 socket becuase I already have a cpu : i7 4770 @ 3.4 ghz. So no oc for me (for now). I already have a 1tb hard drive. I'll probably be picking up the new gtx 1070 because of how new it is

and hopefully it'll be better optimized for newer games down the road. So I hope you guys can review my build and such! Thank you a bunch!

It would be a waste to buy a K part down the road

Spend the 5 bucks and get a gold rated 650W PSU, in the same family from EVGA

for $3 more than that SSD the mushkin ECO3 has 500/500 on the read/write in addition to a small cache to help speed it up a bit more

If your current display is 1080p 60hz buying a 1070 would be a waste

any why that case exactly?

and do you really need an ATX motherboard?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

I'll be getting a 4k monitor soon. So 1440p and such will be common place and some minor 4k. that and it'll help with editing and 3d graphic design.

It's a nice looking simple case and I hear a lot of good things about the case. If you have any other suggestions let me know please.

I got a recommendation for the mobo that and I'll add another card later down the road if needed. I'm not very knowledgeable on mobos so if you have

another one that is better let me know. Thanks a bunch!

You can't really do 4k on the 1070 as it's only about on par with the 980ti, which was about 70% there for 4k, the 1080 even is only 90% there for AAA games anyways, if you want to go for 4k wait for the 1080 ti and Vega GPUs

Otherwise you don't really want to do 1440p on a 4k display, 720p->1440p->2880p 1080p->2160p, so run 1080p for the best scaling.

And since you'd be running 1080p, or even 1440p for some reason, the 1070 would be a bit overkill, meaning you'd probably really want an RX 480 to maximize your 1080p 60hz display, until the true 4k capable GPUs come out, which also frees up a hundered or so for a larger SSD, or just towards that 4k display upgrade

Plus there are 4k 27" IPS free-sync displays for under $500, or 1440p 144hz IPS displays for around there, G-sync adds anywhere from $100 to 200 to the cost of a display vs Free-sync

Although 40' 4k displays are going to be fairly better overall for productivity

Edit*

Running dual GPUs is pretty much never recommended, well, i forgot this is intel, no micro ATX with SLI/Crossfire that are reasonable, at least on Z97.

Suppose you could stick with ATX then if you want the option for dual GPUs, but I'd maybe look at something like the Define S although it's slightly more expensive

The issue is I'll be editing and I'll also be playing gta 5  and the witcher 3 so the 1070 is a must because I want the graphics high/ultra. The rx 480 is not powerful enough to handle the witcher 3. Editing and render times would help if my system had a nice gpu. I've seen some benchmarks and I don't know a very capable card for the witcher. I probably should have mentioned that. I want to keep the fps over 60 most of the time. I'm in love with the define s it looks so nice. I'll go with this!
