So recently I started a thread about what the ideal 1000 dollar build would be that would be used for gaming , video editing and motion graphics in after effects and cinema 4D, with priority put on the latter 2, and in most of the comments 2 CPUs kept popping up the Intel 5820k and the 6700k, so in your opinion which would be better to get, is the possibility of making future upgrades worth it with the 6700k vs the 5820?

I'd go 5820k for the 6 cores, but why not consider the 6800k?

The 6700K is as good and occasionally better for gaming, but the 5820K will probably be faster in most of the tasks you've listed. The 5820K does quite a bit better than the 6700K in Cinebench multithreaded tests, which has implications for Cinema 4D.

I would consider it, but my pocket would disageee

then the 5820k is enough :) and would be better for your usage

In what scenario would the 6700k be better

gaming and single core performance. but gaming is not a big difference.

multicore performance however, the 5820k is better at stock and overclocked.
