Unfortunately my trusty Logitech Z5500 died on me a few months back after a good, solid ten year run.

This is where my problem begins, I have absolutely zero knowledge when it comes to audio equipment. I have a X1, PS4 & PC that I would love to be able to hook up to whatever I purchase, just to avoid wearing headphones at all times. I'm not exactly fussed as to whether It's another 5.1 solution or even 2.1 as I would just like a suitable replacement/upgrade from m Z5500.

I will be using these speakers for literally everything.

My budget is roughly £300.

Thanks in advanced.

1997 Bose Acoustimass 10 Series II, You can find them on Ebay pretty cheap now

I have these and they are fucking CRYSTAL CLEAR.

Then try to find a receiver from Denon or Pioneer or Onkyo that's cheap

Thank you for the recommendation but I'm looking to purchase something new rather than used and on the UK eBay I'm literally looking at maybe 1 or 2 systems I could buy that wouldn't charge me a fortune to get them sent over.

I can find you something. You want surround sound?

What you want and how many speakers?

I've been eyeing up the AudioEngine A2+ but I have no idea if they're any good or not. I would like something similar to them that could sit on my desk with me. If It was 2 speakers or even 5 I wouldn't mind.

I had looked at them but my desk is extremely shakey so I thought the added sub-woofer would cause me some problems. Although in all fairness I am considering replacing the desk too.

Trust me you want a subwoofer. It add much more detail to your music/audio. If yoy never experienced a Subwoofer before I would highly recommend you get them. Sub's are prob the best thing ever invented

I had a 12" sub with my Z5500, loved the thing. It's just that the A5+ have a built in sub so thought that would cause issues.

Get the Klipsch R-15PM. They are slightly better than the A5+ and offer a few more input options and even a phono pre amp. I have the passive version, and they are great :)

2nd this! I'd originally wanted a pair of this badboy for my desktop speakers, but couldn't find 'em locally. So, I snagged a pair of Rokit5 instead.....
