Problems with SSD

Hello, I have a P7P55D motherboard and I just bought a hyperx savage 240gb ssd. I want to install OS on it but there is a problem saying that the bios cannot support the storage device. Is there maybe a way to install it when I am running windows from another drive and then boot from it?

Are you using the most up to date BIOS for your motherboard?

I am not and dont know how to update. I dont even know if there is a new update. last version is 2012..

Being an SSD it shouldn't matter as it is a standard SATA device. The only time it should make a difference is if it is an NVMe SSD.

 

Check your SATA controller mode, is it set to IDE (Legacy) or AHCI.

Switching it to AHCI does not work. I saw some forums about fixing it but nothing worked. I also enabled this smart control for it too? can I install it whilst running windows from another drive and install windows onto the sdd and then boot from the ssd?
