Kingston HyperX Cloud (original) coiled cable

Go to solution Solved by Dackzy,

you have three options to fix this

1. Open the headphones up and solder a new cable on.

2. buy a new pair.

3. see if they want to replace them.

Title says it all.

I purchased the HyperX Cloud headset because it was on sale at the time, and i've heard nothing but praise for the headset. The sound quality is great but nobody has commented on a MAJOR issue with the headset

(see the attached photo)

The headset did not ship like this, but overtime the wire has become so coiled up that its barely useable because the wire has become so short due to it being so tangled up.

I have dipped the wire in boiling water twice to train it to become straight, and while it worked at first, over time the wire re-coils and tangles up all over again.

Does anyone have a REAL solution to this issue? Maybe it is just my headset but I am curious as to why NO reviewer had anything to say about this ridiculous coiled wire.

Thanks in advance,

MRC

EDIT: The headset is kept on a stand which is on the side of my second monitor. My setup is in my basement which is quite cold most of the time, if that helps.

EDIT #2: I have only had this headset for less than a year, wire started to coil after a month of use or so
