Windows 10 store not working

Go to solution Solved by drag0nblood,

Ok so i got the store working by launching it from the xbox store. (my mind is blown)

Hi i have looked around various different forums trying to find a solution but i could not solve it. So i decided to post it here since this is a great community.
When i open the windows store i see the blue loading screen and then it goes blank white.
Windows 10 Education is on my PC. I did run the windows troubleshooting software and it did nothing.
I was hoping somebody can help me.

That means it's a local account.  Here are some troubleshooting steps for the issue that you described.  Note to do these at your own risk.  Troubleshooting steps were pulled from here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-windows_store/windows-store-displays-blank-white-screen/0db00e63-572f-41e9-9859-478023ffea36?auth=1

Method 1:

Install all the pending Windows Updates and check if it makes any difference.

To check for updates

a)      Open Windows Update in Control Panel by swiping in from the right edge of the screen, tapping Search (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the upper-right corner of the screen, moving the mouse pointer down, and then clicking Search), entering Windows Update in the search box, tapping or clicking Settings, and then tapping or clickingInstall optional updates.

b)      In the left pane, tap or click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your PC.

c)      If updates are found, tap or click Install updates.

Read and accept the license terms, and then tap or click Finish if the update requires it. You might be asked for an admin password or to confirm your choice.

Method 2:

Found one MSDN link which is helpful for Windows Store issues after upgrading to Windows 8.1.

Refer to the link: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/notime/archive/2013/10/21/10458031.aspx

Registry Disclaimer: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

a.      Press Windows key + R

b.      Type “regedit” in the run box.

c.       Locate and click the key or subkey that you want to back up.

d.      Click the File menu, and then click Export.

e.      In the Save in box, select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the File name box.

f.        Click Save.

Method 3:

Run "Windows Store Apps" Troubleshooter

You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to run the "Windows Store Apps" troubleshooter. This tool can automatically find and fix some problems with apps. It is only available in English, but will work in all languages. You can let it automatically attempt to repair any found issues, or select what repairs you want to have done.

Method 4:

I would suggest you to clear Windows Store cache and check how it works.

a) Press Windows logo key + R

b) Type wsreset.exe on Run window and press enter.

Method 5:

Set Apps to be Trusted in third Party Antivirus Program -If you have a third party AV program installed, then check it's settings to make sure that Store app not working is changed to be trusted. If the AV program has the app as untrusted, then it will block and prevent the app from opening.

Let us know the status of the issue. If you need further assistance, please post back. We will be glad to help you.

Try this... I had a similar issue when upgrading to windows 10.  Make yourself a new windows profile/user account and see if that helps.  If it works on the new profile then you may need to delete the other non-working profile.  If the below steps fix it then we have 2 options the first is continue using the new profile in place of the nonworking one.  Or you can delete the old user profile and registry entries this will rebuild the profile.  Note: Do not delete the account from the other users screen till data has been moved as this can result in data loss if you don't transfer everything first.

To make a new account do the following.

  1. Select the Start button, and then select Settings.
  2. Select Accounts > Other users.02847985-a390-4b3f-90c2-e010d1583ad6.jpe
  3. Under Other users, select Add someone else to this PC.
  4. At the bottom of the page, select I don’t have this person’s sign-in information.
  5. At the bottom of the next page, select Add a user without a Microsoft account.
  6. Enter a name for the new account. If you want this person to sign in with a password, enter and verify the password, add a password hint, and then select Next.
  7. Select Finish.
