Nvidia gtx 760

I was wondering if I could put a GTX 760 on the same motherboard as a R9 Radeon 390 without the two cards conflicting. I would be using one card for Bitcoin mining and rendering and the other card for playing my games.

Isn't Bitcoin mining non effective now? a.k.a you lose more money than you gain by paying the electrical bill.
